Aroha ki te Tangata offer a wide range of programmes five days a week that build and support opportunities for Service Users in Mental Health who want to experience things uniquely Maori.

Programs are responsive and flexible enough to empower Service Users to meet their individual and collective needs. Building on and developing relationships with service user and service provider to facilitate links back into their community. A place to get away to and meet others of like mind.

We offer a free and confidential Service which includes:

  • Working alongside Service Users who want to make changes for a more satisfying lifestyle.
  • Collective Programme development in Eight week blocks
  • Arts & Crafts, Life skills, Hikoi, Recovery Training, Advocacy Training, Gardening, Sport & Recreation
  • Individual Monthly Goal Planning
  • Facilitate consumer networking activities
  • Field trips and social outings

We implement Maori Models of Recovery into our systems and practices:

  • Te Reo Maori
  • Powhiri/poroporoaki
  • Whakawhanaungatanga
  • Waiata
  • Poukai
  • Hui

Transport is available but must be negotiated.

We operate Monday to Friday inclusive starting at 9:am and finishing 3 pm each day.

Refreshment is provided bring your own lunch.
